Welcome to my blog!
My name is Stephen Thayer and, first and foremost, I am a person. You probably are, too. If so, then I’m so excited you’re here! As you know, being a person can be really, really hard sometimes, so I created this blog to help you with it.
A little bit about me
I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I earned my Ph.D. from Brigham Young University where I developed a passion for helping people help themselves. I’ve worked as a therapist in a variety of mental health settings, including as an active duty psychologist in the United States Air Force.
I am currently in full-time private practice at Utah Valley Psychology in Orem, Utah. You can find out more about my practice on my Psychology Today profile here.
I love being a therapist. I am inspired by the courage of those who struggle with life and honored when I can help them heal, grow, and thrive.
A little more about me
I love the mountains…and by that I mean I love to climb up them, camp on them, and ski down them. I also love those crazy obstacle course races. My guilty pleasures are brownies, fantasy novels, and video games (I actually feel zero guilt about these things). Most of all I love my brilliant, beautiful, patient wife and our adorable, hilarious, destructive children.
